Tired and Frustrated

Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to Me, all [a]who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is [b]easy and My burden is light.” … Continue reading

Establishment

What happens when your good gifts serves as the anchor for your faith but God takes it away? We lose our assurance of faith because we lost focus of our all encompassing sacrifice for all in Jesus, as a relationship with our Heavenly Father is devalued and placed below a comfortable life filled with earthly blessings and recognition.

Perfections Place

Matthew 23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie … Continue reading

This Little Light of Mine

The Real Issue

Over the past year or so my heart has been heavy and burden about us; Christians. I have a heavy heart because when I look at us I don’t see Spirit filled believers. I see us as people who have been told all our lives what to do and how to be. I see questions … Continue reading

How? Laying the Foundation of All Sufficient Faith part I

The question of how seems like a simple one but it’s not always as it seems. Some would see that as a problem but it actually opens the door to a conversation. That conversation is the Gospel; I know what you are thinking: “here he goes with the Jesus talk”. With that in mind I … Continue reading

A Life Worthy of the Gospel

How then do we live a life worthy of our calling? The Christian life is not the same thing as the culturally accepted norms of the local community in which we live. The world is antagonistic to the Christian life (1 John 2:15-17). God has called us “out of the darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9b NET). How tragic when you can’t tell the difference between the standards of the culture and the local church.

Sin, Faith, Duty

Luke 17 1Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. 2It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones … Continue reading
