Zombies

Zombie ~
a.  the body of a dead person given the semblance of life, but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose.
b. the supernatural force itself.
c. a person whose behavior or responses are wooden, listless, or seemingly rote; automaton.
d. an eccentric or peculiar person.
e. a person who is or appears to be lifeless, apathetic, or totally lacking in independent judgment; automaton
f. a supernatural spirit that reanimates a dead body
g. a corpse brought to life in this manner

Ephesians 2:1-3 (New International Version, ©2011)

¹ As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, ² in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. ³ All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh^[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Romans 8:5-8 (New International Version, ©2011)

⁵ Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. ⁶ The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. ⁷ The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. ⁸ Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

They rise from graves and walk the earth mindlessly feeding on the living.  In the movies it’s either the opening of graves or it’s from a man made virus with the intent on being powerful in some form.  In the process of satisfying their dead/dying flesh they make others just like them.  They learn and adapt to their new condition which has no respect of person.  Once adjusted to being dead it is no longer an issue and no one seeks to be alive after that.  Now the living dead despises the living, wishing to destroy the constant reminder of a fruitful life.  The true living are freaks and are now the problem as they go against the grain causing to many waves.  The real/true living are party crashers as they bring fun to a stand still.  It’s hard for them to coexist in a world made for the living dead.  See in this world, life has to be geared towards the zombies’ needs or everything would collapse.  Being dead has become to big to fail.

It’s hard for the living to see loved ones become dead like this.  They know the life that could be theirs but watch as they are swallowed up by death of the world.  Those that are alive want to save them by trying to offer life.  But we must realize that  without a thrist for life it will be hard to rejoice in the life of Christ.  It’s hard to rejoice in salvation, in life with Christ, in the newness and the good news of the gospel when you don’t know that you are dead.  How can you choose Christ if you think that in the rioting flesh you have all you need?  The answer is that you can’t choose.  When you settle for death, life is foreign  and you no longer recognize life.  You have no idea as to what it means to be alive.

Galatians 5:19-25 (New International Version, ©2011)

 ¹⁹ The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; ²⁰ idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions ²¹ and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ²⁴ Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. ²⁵ Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

All the things we see as living a great life is destructive at the core.  We are zombies feeding off others crushing them into submission to just go with the flow.  Opposing the living dead gets you  branded a Jesus freak or a fanatic.  You become a rebel because righteousness and holiness is abnormal and sin is normal.  The opposition of God’s law is acceptable and they develop a form of godliness, calling themselves spiritual.  It’s like not taking the mark of the beast.  Our zombie virus are our idols.  We reflect what we love and we can no longer see; as we become blind and deaf.  We don’t think we have a problem at all.  We don’t see nothing wrong with eating others or destroying the innocent.  We don’t see it as a issue to cause the righteous to sin in order to build ourselves up (Luke 17:1-3).   We are zombies and act like zombies to save our life (Luke 9:24-26).  Our existence is more important than gospel integrity.  Our life is more important and should not be lost for Christ.  So we make a god with a pinch of a false Jesus and began to decay within.  We kill anyone who shines light on the undead and the idols.  We look foolish trying to protect our speechless idols who talk and say nothing absolutely.  They speak garage and contradict themselves constantly.  We just keep going bump in the night as dead flesh can’t feel the pain of running into walls.

Psalm 135:15-18

¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
made by human hands.
¹⁶ They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see.
¹⁷ They have ears, but cannot hear,
nor is there breath in their mouths.
¹⁸ Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.

If our heart doesn’t trust in God alone for security, salvation and satisfactions we will inevitably create a functional savior after our own image and our own desires.  So we can manipulate them according to our efforts for the chief end of our glory.  But God will not share his glory with anyone. ~ Pastor Jeff Wiesner

Our true and living God speaks for himself and has written it in the holy scriptures.  All we have to do is read it.  There is hope and it’s in Jesus Christ.
