It Hurts

If I said that blessings are coming your way, you would like it but if I said satan has asked sift you  (luke 22:31) you would rebuke me and say I have a demon.

John 8:49 “I am not possessed by a demon,” said Jesus, “but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50 I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.

If I came telling you the best is yet to come and God is about to pour you out a blessing, you would flock to me.  If I said deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Christ you would call me a hater.  If I said sow a seed and reap 100 fold you would rip up your pockets to give all you have.  But if I said give to those in need you said that they will drink it up, shoot it up or just wont pay you back.  I can tell you what the Lord said and you ask for biblical proof.  If I said read the bible you look at me like “why”.  I could qoute word for word the scripture and it would mean nothing but if I gave my opinion or feeling you treat it as “gospel”.

John 7

14 Not until halfway through the festival did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. 15 The Jews there were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having been taught?”

16 Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. 18 Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

It hurts so bad!  If I then say stop running with scissors and they turn and call me lame.  I say be real and now I’m a legalist.  I urge others to truly reverance the Lord Jesus but they say I’m going overboard aka Jesus freak. In the back of their minds they believe in pentence and pergatory.  Once its over its done, no take backs.  It hurts so bad, like watching your child being carried of to jail but the kicker is that they do it willingly.  They think it’s a game and they have extra lives.  The wolves keep lying telling them God loves sinners aka the wicked.  If that’s true why did Jesus die?  God’s wrath for sinners was put on Christ so the dirty would be clean to glorify Him not us.

Romans 9:21-22

21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory—

Proverbs 15:8-9

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight. The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but He loves one who pursues righteousness.

John 3:35-36

35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

Ephesians 5:5-7

5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.

Romans 5:8-9

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Romans 2:4-6

4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”

We have all been there and we have all wreslted with leaving Egypt and our longing for Egypt.  The evidence of our stuggle to submit to Christ proves our sinful nature.  Yet we hold to the belief there is good in us when God said we could not submit to His law the ultimate goodness.  I didn’t intend to write this but I wanted to showcase God’s glory imparting a passion for Him.  You know even with all of our faults and bad intent in our hearts which we refuse to confess to Christ and repent of;  He still pursues us.  What kind of love is this!!  What manner of holy God seeks to right the wrongs of sinners by His own suffering and death.  Who does that?  What God takes on a bodily form to be born into a world that didn’t ask or seek Him not even His righteousness.  There is no man invented god that would do that cause no man would willingly leave his salvation in a unearnable position.  So yes it hurts me when I see us choose death over life.  It hurts when we say sin appeals to us and sin is pleasing to the eyes.  It hurts to see us say in our hearts the cross is disgusting so give us Barabbas.  It hurts to see us turned down suburben living for public housing cause its not cool like everybody else.  We  try so hard to not stand out and we desire to blend in with the world (James 4:3-5).  We say that we live a Christian lifestyle but slowly compromise.  When it’s brought up we scream that we are saved cause Christ died for us.  But we don’t understand that we died with Christ and our old self is dead (Romans 6:3-5).  We don’t understand that repentance comes before salvation.  We don’t understand submission.  It hurts cause we have fooled ourselves into believing our own rules, traditions and opinions over Holy Scriptures(1 Timothy 1:3-11).  We say no to submission and obeying husbands and wives but we think we will submit to Christ (Ephesians 5:21-33)?

But you don’t listen to what I say unless is pleases the ears cause you hear the words, see my face and can’t hear His voice (John 10:7-18).   And through it all God loves His elect, the royal priesthood of believers whom He has called to Himself for His own glory.
