Ready?

John 6:5-6 Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

God is always aware of what we are limited to.  God is always aware of the positions and points in life that we stand in.  God is always aware of how we think about our situations and how we respond.  The only people who do not know these things are us.  We are unaware of the sin that is blocking the response of faith, trust, hope and obedience.

Jesus is well aware of our resources just as He already knew about the little money the disciples had, the number of people coming as well as the boy and his few fish.  He wants to show us who we have faith in, who we think is the focus of all this and what we always turn to.  Jesus simply tells the twelve to seat the people, God is telling us to trust in him and watch. In the feeding of the five thousand, the disciples had to return to Jesus to get more food to give out.  The disciples never went out into the crowd  with a basket.  God calls us to do the work we are created for and the enemy will always remind us of our empty baskets or none existent resources.  Our response is, “yes I am powerless on my own, but I do not serve me; I serve the one who is sending me out who is also the one that supplies.”  If what we do is for God’s glory, then God will not allow His glory to be mocked; so God provides.  God chooses the one with nothing because it is the weak that displays God’s glory because they know it was God alone. So the call is to show us what we don’t have it all together nor can we make it happen.  God does this in order to bring us to a humble heart that cries out to the Savior.  The revealing of our lack is to prepare us to display God’s Glory by the grace that strengthen us to move.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me

Job 42:1 Then Job answered the Lord and said: 2 “I know that you can do all things,

and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

The children of God are chosen and called for His purposes, who can stop God? No man nor devil in hell; not even our own doubts, fears, and anxieties. And nothing destroys doubt, fear and anxieties like lack because lack reorients the heart from “it’s all about me” to “it’s all about Jesus”.  Now the clay is ready for the potter.
