Wolves

Shepherd in Valdunquillo, Spain.

My heart breaks at the thought of God‘s people starving. We starve both physically and spiritually all at the cost of edifying the shepherds. Do I deny the pastors and ministers support, by no mean. Should a pastor live in luxury while the congregation suffer and struggle? And when the people struggle, the elders say its because the people lack faith or because they don’t give enough.

Jeremiah 23
1 “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the LORD. 2 Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the LORD. 3 “I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number.

James 2: 14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

At the same time they teach people money manipulation of God. They breed greed, covetousness, lust and pride by highlighting a sincere need. They only offer pray when they have more than enough. They pick and choose what parts of the Mosaic Law to hold onto and yet ignore the principal as well as practice. I find it interesting that the last book of the Old Testament spoke against the failures of the priesthood. The First book of the New Testament is Matthew written for the Jews spoke out against the priesthood from the direct mouth of God, Jesus Christ. We have Ezekiel speaking the word of God against the shepherds and how God himself will gather His sheep. Then Christ the good shepherd spoke about gathering His sheep and laying His life down for them. Show me a minister who would give up his pay to feed the congregation?

John 10: 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

My heart is in anguish as some are willingly lied to and others are without a clue and they later fall away. All because the Gospel has been perverted by greedy men lusting for glory. We wish for our sins to be validated and approved of. We wish for a pastor that tells us that we are only human. We don’t want a pastor that holds us accountable. We don’t want to live up to God’s standards and His purpose for saving us. So they teach us how to find our own purpose. So we cast off being made into the image of Christ not knowing that we have just rejected our very identity. So we neither deny ourselves nor take up the cross and for sure we refuse to follow a Christ who suffers and no honor. (Matthew 13:53-57).

We would rather believe in Christ and not on Him or in His words. They confuse the wrath of God with brokenness or sanctification because they don’t see that they live in sin. In our ignorance we deny the truth and God has given us over to our lust. We are living in God’s wrath and life has become 80+ years of wrath followed by an eternity of hell if we don’t repent and turn to Christ.

Luke 13: 1 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Those in the nice house driving the expensive car who own their own business can be just as or more sinful than the drug dealer or prostitute

.
Ezekiel 13:9-11 (New International Version)

9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.

10 ” ‘Because they lead my people astray, saying, “Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, 11 therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth.

Ezekiel 34:10-12 (New International Version)

10 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

11 ” ‘For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. 12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.

Shepherds should not say peace when there is no peace. Don’t let the blind walk out into traffic just for selfish reasons. I tell you the truth, it should not shock a congregation to here the Gospel preached. It should not shock a congregation to hear words about salvation and walking in Christ. It should not be a rare occurrence to hear that God saved them for himself. The Gospel is not all about you but its about God gathering to himself a people that will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Its about God returning all under His feet. Its about God redeeming all creation.
