Ministry is about displaying God’s grace and mercy by using the worthless to do the impossible which will last an eternity. No, it is not always sunshine and that one person that you are disciplining doesn’t always get it. But as ministers we set aside our comfort and bear all for the sake of others.

What does the bad eye refer to in Matthew 20:15? It refers to an eye that cannot see the beauty of grace. It cannot see the brightness of generosity. It cannot see unexpected blessing to others as a precious treasure. It is an eye that is blind to what is truly beautiful and bright and precious and God-like. It is a worldly eye. It sees money and material reward as more to be desired than a beautiful display of free, gracious, God-like generosity.

Psalm 119:104 Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. 106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. 107 I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord , according … Continue reading →

A Living Sacrifice 1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may … Continue reading →

We base so much of what we do towards God on what we want to do and what we are comfortable doing. More times than most all that we are willing to do for God in the form of worship is external gestures. We all try to create a place of worship and a “new thing” or “new way” of worship. We dress it up and call it pure because we have made it pure. We take out what we feel is tradition based on our own wisdom.

GOD deserves so much more from me, how I love him. But I’m not speaking from love but pride in me as Christ has already satisfied Him. That may sound confusing in how I say that I love God and how he deserves the best of me. You would not think that anything is wrong … Continue reading →

Romans 5:1-11 Peace with God Through Faith 1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 More … Continue reading →

My gracious and heavenly Father, Forgive us Lord for we have grieved your Holy Spirit and profaned your hallowed name. We honor you with lip service while our hearts are as far from you as the east is from west. We call upon you daily for blessings and ignore your commandments. We have such high demands on you … Continue reading →
