Never Should Have Made It

Ezekiel 36:22-24 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.
The impossibilities in life are like windows to God’s glory. Our testimony is not how our faith got us over but how our doubt and sin are powerless to stop God’s glory for His name sake. The real reason we never should have made it, is because we were dead set on doing things our way; the all wrong way. We followed the course of this world enslaved to to the sin of disbelief, even to the point of God breaking our hips to show us our true strength is actually nothing at all. In spite of our stiff-necks, trespasses, and sins God blessed us with a life we tried to found on our own by our own terms. There is such a relief in this, to know that God’s grace covers us when we fall short because it’s not about us. The world says that it should but God says otherwise. The Lord says that we don’t have to “go get our blessing” because if we rest in grace (which is faith in work) God blessings others through our love for Him. And cares for us like a real Father would, would a father withhold from his child or would he only give what the child needs when he is performing “good”? Why would God do that knowing that there is no good in us? The Father doesn’t hold blessings like carrots in front of us. When we truly love God for who He is, we don’t need anything from Him but his love. Because the father’s love covers a multitude of sins. We don’t go get blessings but walk in faith with purpose and hope in a promise that can’t fail because it is all for His holy name sake. The plan is fool proof, we just don’t believe it. It failing is all in our imagination. We just have to cry uncle and repent of our sins, trusting them to Jesus Christ’s finished work.
