Sometimes we all think that we smarter than what we really are. We tend to think we are wise and give great advice. We take credit for every genius thought while blaming someone for every stupid one. We are all hypocrites in disguises as we are all better and wiser than the next person. Our way is always best and their is no other perspective but our own. Our standards are based on a grotesquely flawed god. Our cornerstone is way off and the entire structure is not plume. So since we think we are right we reject correction and the building is lost. We reject because we feel an imperfect person is judging us. But we fail to recognize God‘s instructions because we don’t recognize his voice. Without an relationship we will not know him. It is as if we are on a blind date looking for Christ and the entire time he is standing right next to us. Our wisdom is built on ignorance as well as foolishness. Our wisdom has required us to reverse the world in order to fit our standards. We interchange the meaning of words to make sinful idols into even more unholy inadequate gods.
Isaiah 5:20-23
20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! 22 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink, 23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe, and deprive the innocent of his right!
Proverbs 26:12
12 Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Proverbs 28:9-14
9 If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. 10 Whoever misleads the upright into an evil way will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance. 11 A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man who has understanding will find him out. 12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, people hide themselves. 13 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. 14 Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
Proverbs 3:5-8
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord , and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
Proverbs 12:1
1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
Proverbs 12:13-23
13 An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous escapes from trouble. 14 From the fruit of his mouth a man is satisfied with good, and the work of a man’s hand comes back to him. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. 16 The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult. 17 Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit. 18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. 19 Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. 20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy. 21 No ill befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble. 22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord , but those who act faithfully are his delight. 23 A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims folly.
