Fruit of a Tree

The fruit of a tree bear witness to the depth of its roots. Its fruit give evidence of life. A tree without fruit cannot feed nor can it produce more trees. Anything less is an artificial tree and its fruit is merely decoration like a Christmas tree; it is present only for a season. No matter what we think; the Creator knows its not a real tree regardless of how good or beautiful it is, it still burns. So are you a Christmas Tree all dressed and beautiful to look at? Are you a Oak with deep roots bearing acorns to give birth to more trees just like you? Do your branches give comfort and shade from the heat of the trials and tribulations of others? Do you sway with the wind at the slightest breeze? Or do you stand firm holding on strong to the foundation?

John 15:1-17

1″I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5″I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

9″As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.

The shallow roots of some trees barely hold on and they are blow to every direction. They run to where ever they find relief from judgment that they foolishly proclaim as acts of Satan. God is not pleased nor will He be mock by our insincere hearts and lip service.

Revelation 3:15-22

15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. 21To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

God would rather we man up! and decide to either be for Him and serve Him or just continue to love our sin and be against Him.

God bless you & may the Holy Spirit lead you
