Know Who You Serve
John 7
15And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? 16Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. 18He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. 19Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
People these days will believe just about anything. False teachers don’t really stand up and say “I’m a false teacher and I preach a false doctrine that will lead you astray”. A lot of people are mesmerized by fancy words and charming speakers. Our lack of study makes us prone to fall into traps set by the enemy because we don’t even know the voice of the Lord we say that we love so much. I could tell you that the truth doesn’t contradict itself but you wouldn’t know it if you don’t read the bible. If you just do the two commandments Christ called the greatest, it would serve as a solid foundation on which to test the doctrines against the truth. What are the two? Love God with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as your self. If a doctrine ask you to elevate yourself above God or to put yourself in front of others; its not of God. Christ calls us to deny thyself and pick up your cross. You can’t deny thyself and seek your personal wealth at the same time.
Like Jesus said : “17If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. 18He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. ”
That speaks for itself, there is nothing I really need to add. Christ said it all
Amen
